At Khel Creativity Club, we offer high school chemistry classes to middle school students so they can have an upper hand when they enter high school.
We start out with an in-depth analysis of different chemical elements and numerous patterns of the periodic table. Later, we learn why these properties exist by studying the different components of atoms and how they interact. We also look at real-life examples of everything so that students not only understand the theoretical concepts, but also the practical uses.
We held a successful chemistry competition on August 9, 2015 at 2:30 PM. To view pictures, look below. To view the competition itself, go to this YouTube video:Chemistry Competition Video. Come back for more information of other events occurring at Khel.
This course seeks to not only prepare students for the SAT II Subject test but also provide them with preparation for AP Chemistry and pre-collegiate level courses.
The class is focused more on understanding core concepts and biological mechanisms rather than simply memorizing basic biological principles.
Atomic Structure, Matter, Chemical Reactions, Stoichiometry, Equilibrium, Solutions, Acids and Bases, Gas Laws, Thermodynamics, Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Nuclear Chemistry, and Basic Lab Procedures
Lecturer: Mr. Murthy, Certified in NMR Spectroscopy and Computational Molecular modelling.
Grade: Students pursuing 8, 9 and 10th grades.
Timings:Every Saturday, 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
The course will involve periodic exams to ensure that students understand the material as well as take-home assignments based on the in-class material. Performance in the class will be tracked so students can follow their progress throughout the course.
