This course seeks to not only prepare students for the SAT II Subject test but also provide them with preparation at the pre-collegiate level for future Introductory Biology Classes.
The class is focused more on understanding core concepts and biological mechanisms rather than simply memorizing basic biological principles.
Cell Theory, Biochemistry, Cellular Transport, Cellular Respiration, Genetics, Cell Replication and Division, Mendelian Genetics, Evolution, Taxonomy, Animal Structures, Behavior and Viruses, Plant Structures, Ecology, Cell Signaling Pathways and Development.
Lecturer: Vrinda Punj, Shrewsbury High School Senior.
Grade: Students pursuing 8, 9 and 10th grades.
Timings: Every Sunday, 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.
The course will involve periodic exams to ensure that students understand the material as well as take-home assignments based on the in-class material. Performance in the class will be tracked so students can follow their progress throughout the course.
